Safety Policy
Northern Haul Contracting’s Health and Safety Program and Safety Policy is based on the conviction that all incidents or accidents can be prevented by eliminating unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. Our employees, contractors and sub-contractors are our greatest assets, and we believe that achieving excellence in standards for work site safety, health and cleanliness is important to each of us, to our families and to our customers. We recognize that achieving an effective Health and Safety Program requires a daily ongoing commitment in both attitude and effort from each of us, and depends on the co-operation, support and participation of all NHC employees, contractors, and sub-contractors. As we conduct our business activities, we will:
- Operate in full compliance with all applicable federal, provincial and local codes and regulation.
- Establish and support procedures and rules that promote the Safety and Health of our people and our operations
- Create an environment in which training provides our Employees, Contractors, and Sub-contractors with the knowledge and skills to implement change which will in turn improve both job safety and performance.
Health and Safety Policy
Northern Haul Contracting (NHC) is committed to providing a safe, healthy workplace and to following work practices that protect our employees, contractors and sub-contractors from hazardous and unhealthy conditions. Protecting the safety and health of our employees, contractors, and sub-contractors is our highest priority, and we are committed to an ever evolving process which will ensure that Health and Safety standards at each of our work sites will show Continuous Improvement.
To facilitate this philosophy, everyone at NHC must:
- Contribute in helping to develop effective Health and Safety Standards
- Demonstrate leadership in Health and Safety by accepting responsibility for his or her own actions and by helping to protect the safety and health of others
- Accept personal responsibility for recognizing and correcting hazardous conditions and unsafe practices.
- Always seek new methods of improving safety and health processes and accident prevention efforts to ensure the continuous improvement of our Health and Safety Program
- Challenge any activity or situation that compromises NHC’s commitment to Health and Safety in the workplace.
